Why learn technology?
While rudimentary, basic skills are incredibly necessary for anyone (not just teachers) to have. This is why it is so critical that these things are taught to young children. They are the building blocks for every other technology that students will one day use. If teachers are unaware as to how to properly engage these technologies, students have little chance at ever using them to their full capacity. With an ever-changing technological field, it remains crucial that educators stay ahead of the game when it comes to learning these tools. When teachers actively include technology in their instruction, such as Microsoft Office, MovieMaker, ect., they are demonstrating to children that these applications can and should be a part of daily life. In addition, they are keeping learning fun and engaging while using a variety of teaching methods that hit on many of students’ learning styles, which will ultimately lead to more effective teaching.
